Electronic music has been growing in popularity ever since the sequencer was first used to synthesize sound, and subsequently music. Of the several different kinds of music that could possibly be made, trance music has held its own since the early 80’s and giving birth to several new genres by the late 90’s. Several trance music forums have been created during this time by fans of trance to discuss, share information about their favourite genre of music. These forums also serve as training ground for budding trance DJs to get feedback on their music. Some of them may even continue to frequent the forums after they have established themselves as musicians.
One other thing that trance video has spawned, besides crazed fan following is the wide variety of sub-genres that borrow from other genres of music, ranging from folk to hard rock. After this proliferation of sub-genres, trance music entered its post popular age and the public domain. Fans could now find their favourite tracks easily without the hassle of hunting for the elusive vinyls at obscure music shops. This has also helped the DJs immensely as they now have an easy and quicker way to get their records to the public.
